Day 24 + 25: Seasons of change

Having just observed the Solstice yesterday (Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere and Winter for the Northern Hemisphere), it seems apt that the theme of choice is Seasons of Change...

I always love this time of the year - probably because I'm a summer baby with my birthday in November, although I did recently learn that summer officially starts at Solstice time. The longest day and shortest night of the year and vice versa for the opposite of the world is always an exciting prospect.. as someone who's pretty obsessed with sunrises and sunsets, I'm an avid follower of the timing of each of these marvels. It amazes me how the days get longer just by a minute or few seconds each day leading up to the Summer Solstice making our days longer and sunsets later and sunrises earlier and then slowly slowly slowly ever so subtly, just changes so unobtrusively that all of a sudden you notice that you're in Autumn and then Winter and so on...

Nature is such a teacher to us in so many ways. From the planting of seeds to blooming of plants and flowers, to trees growing and leaves being green changing to yellow then red or brown and then eventually shedding and falling off as we enter Winter and then re-growing in Spring. The idea of Seasons in itself is something that teaches us that life has it's phases and cycles. As mentioned above, I was always an avid lover of summer as a child. As I've grown and aged and matured in my life, I have learnt to embrace and see the beauty of each of these different times of the year. Each season has it's own beauty and magic to offer - it's just for us to look for it and celebrate it - sort of like life... we have the Summer of our lives and then the Winters. Of course there are the Springs and Autumns too, but each are so pivotal to our growth to who we are as people.

I love these quotes on seasons that relate to this:
"Embrace the seasons and cycles of your life. There is magic in change." ~ Bronnie Ware

"Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own." ~ Charles Dickens

"It's a NEW season. A perfect opportunity to do something NEW, something BOLD, something BEAUTIFUL." ~ Unknown

And this one below has to be one of my favourites...

So often we forget to acknowledge where we are (if you missed my post on this in a bit more detail, read here Day 11: Where you are...)! It certainly may not be where we want to be, or where we thought we would be, but where you are serves a purpose in your life and journey.

So today, and going forward, learn to EMBRACE the Seasons of your life... Seasons are one constant that we know has to change, and it's in this change that there is beauty and magic. So create some magic today - as the quote above says, it's a new season - do something NEW, BOLD and BEAUTIFUL!

Till tomorrow...

Much love always, Poonam
