Day 12: Let's celebrate!
Today's been a very special day - from waking at 05:30am right up to now - mostly because it was my mom's born day, but also because it was an excuse to just get to do what I LOVE doing... celebrating!
Anyone who knows me, will be aware of how I find any and every opportunity to celebrate! Anything! Everything! Things of any nature from a countdown to a mini milestone or a massive one, from anniversaries to birthdays to life changing transformative events to even some not so good events.
I love this quote which basically is the gist of the message for today's post:
A really good friend of mine often comments on how she's never met someone who celebrates life as much as I do. I didn't know at first if this was a positive or negative thing. She then went on to clarify that she found it really special and unique how I had this ability to create a celebration around anything, and how much she valued that and has taught her in her life..
I hope what I share today somehow inspires or encourages you too!
As the quote above says, the more you celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate. So often we wait for that next big thing - that birthday or anniversary or Christmas or New Year or or or.. and yet, sometimes, some are not so lucky to celebrate that momentous occasion with that special one. Times of recent have made us very very aware of this, and how each moment and opportunity is worthy of celebration. So do it now! If you want to spoil someone, do it now. If you want to tell someone how much you love them, or how much they've meant to you in your life or helped you or supported you or whatever it is, do it now! Celebrate life. Celebrate the moments...
Remember too that celebrations don't always necessarily have to be the good things, and definitely don't have to be that big hoo-hah expensively lavishly outlandish type of shingding. One thing I'm truly proud of having the ability to do, is make seemingly insignificant little things become significant. Many that know me will have experienced or been the recipient of that little handwritten note either on beautiful stationery but most often on my signature brightly coloured memo-cube shaped paper or even sometimes toilet paper or a leaf! My gifts are often not too expensive, but it's about the thought and time and effort that goes behind it... to remind someone just how special they are to me, to celebrate them and their life and to just celebrate that thing that I feel compelled to do so in that moment.. to just acknowledge that moment and just where we are and how far we've come!
My calendar is littered with little anniversary reminders like Poonam's Brave Day, or Poon's BoomDoom Day, or Ma's Day or Poon & XXX Meet Day anniversary and so many others - little and often big things reminding me of significant things in my life I've overcome, or of other people and their impact in my life both living and passed...As Osho said, "life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated". And I believe this should be done throughout our lives, even right up to the end!
So I invite you, and remind you to just celebrate! I celebrate each of you right now reading those post, and those that may never ever even see it. I celebrate who you are, where you are and all you have to still go through!
Take care. Look after yourself and all those around you... and remember to celebrate :o)
Till tomorrow,
Much love always and for the love of wisdom, Poonam
